Case Study: John Wheatley College

ADS were the contractor appointed by John Wheatley College in Glasgow to carry out the full decant of the campus, including various stores, to a new site in the city.

ADS carried out this relocation, commencing as a phased move in mid-December 2006 and completed the contract in March 2007.

The first phase of the contract involved disposal of redundant furniture and decommissioning of IT. We also carried out the on-site shredding of confidential documents.

The second phase was the packing and dismantling of the library, relocation, re-erection of racking, then unpacking of books back into the racking.

The final phase took place over a three week period, relocating industrial kitchen appliances, furniture, staff contents and IT into the new building with the supply of skips throughout the project to safely remove items from the buildings to a licensed waste site.
